Astghik Avetisyan
Astghik Avetisyan studied at the department of “Armenian Language and Literature” of the Phylological Faculty, Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute, and graduated with honors. She worked as a teacher of Armenian Language and Literature at School No. 19 in Vanadzor. She also taught the “Life Skills” discipline for two years. Along with the pedagogical work, she was engaged in radio journalism. She received an award from the OSCE Yerevan office for her coverage of environmental topics. Participated in a number of courses related to human rights. In 2008, within the framework of the “Children’s Rights Anew” project, Astghik Avetisyan implemented by the Armenian Office of the United Nations Children’s Fund and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, she was awarded the prize “for the organization of the best lesson related to the protection of children’s rights.” Having participated in the “Innovative Teachers 2009” competition organized by the Microsoft Company and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, she received a prize and an honorary certificate. Astghik Avetisyan has two published articles: “Educational Policy for the Disabled” and “Teaching the Story “The Bread” by Hrant Matevosyan in the 6th Grade: Example of an Integrated Lesson.” Having participated in a number of seminars and trainings and received relevant certificates, she teaches Armenian and foreign literature in the International Baccalaureate (IB) system. Since 2019, she has been cooperating with Givat Haviva International School in Israel, conducting online classes for Armenian students as a tutor. Since September 2021, she has been working at UWC Dilijan International College as a teacher of Literature. Astghik Avetisyan conducted online seminars for teachers in cooperation with the EduArmenia educational organization.
